Summer time heat

As this will be my first summer time with the X-Carve I was wondering if anybody could attest to how it runs in the heat. Mine is in the garage and I live in south GA where the heat and humidity get pretty high, especially in a closed garage. I’m hoping my carving time won’t suffer.

I am in Augusta, GA…nice and hot and humid and I think I suffer more then the machine  My X-Carve is in my garage/workshop with no a/c and it has worked like a champ on the hottest days.

Awesome, glad to hear. During the “winter” here I did notice the X-Carve didn’t work as well until it warmed up. By that I mean when I would home the Z axis it would slip at first. After a while it wouldn’t anymore. Who knows though.

I am NE of Atlanta. I run my feed a little faster on plastics in the summer.

As a totally aside Erik your coasters are ridiculous. I mean that in a good way.

Make sure you don’t keep chemicals poorly sealed like muriatic acid near your gear. You can get rusting on hardware…

Gotcha, good to know. I don’t think I do but now you’ve got me checking.

I too am in NE Atlanta (Buford/Sugar Hill) and I have noticed a few slight differences. My Xcarve is in my basement and during winter, the first time I’d home Z, it had like a delayed switch trigger…but other than that, haven’t noticed much. I wasn’t carving in the heat of the summer last year so maybe I’ll see something this year.
