Re Flash my x controller

Hi.
I am trying to re flash my x controller but get the error message that the file is to big and i have to reduce it.How on earth do i do that ?

I did reflash the original arduino that came with the x carve 1 year or so back,but I have obviously forgotten something along the way.

I am using the Arduino ide software for this,but is there a simpler way ? How do I reset the rom with x loader ?

This is most likely the same issue I am having,how do you down rev the board to 1.6.11 ?
