've been using easel for a couple of years and mostly make cutting boards. I have recently developed a problem when carving the juice groove. When the router is going from right to left on the x-axis it makes an indention to the top of the board about every 3-4 inches. Is this a software problem or mechanical with the x-carve? Help!!!
looks a little of both, tighten up your machine mainly your v-wheels and check your belts. Possibly your feeds and speeds need to be adjusted or you just might need a new cutter
Thanks. I’ve tightened the wheels and belts. Also have a new cutter. The feeds and speeds are the same as I’ve used on 25-30 different boards and didn’t have that problem. What is puzzling to me is it only does it when going from right to left on the x-axis. no problem going from left to right or on the y=axiis.
Whats the depth per pass.
And when you say youve tightened the vwheels, you mean adjusted the eccentric nuts, right? (In x,y on the new version xcarve post Nov 2021, and all 3 axises in the older model)
By adjusting the eccentric nut the lower vwheels (on the x,y, and right side on the older z axis) the vwheels on that side can be brought in tighter to the rail, increasing machine rigidity…
The depth per pass is .032. I’ll try adjusting the eccentric nuts and do some sample carves and see that happens. Thanks for your help
