Please help, new to forum and been reading lots, now its time to ask a question.
My X-Carve is new to me but was a second hand purchase. Was working fine up to 3 days ago but now the Z Axis will not go up and down in ‘inch’ mode, only works in ‘mm’ mode. Also makes a really weird noise!

What are you using to send gcode , try and increase the feed rate for Z axis?
You may have a custom z axis and might need to calibrate the z axis movement specs…
Here’s the default xcarve settings
And here’s the process to calibrate movement if the measurements are off after setting to defaults (which it likely will be off for the z if its custom)
