Xcarve Pro Controller is trashed

So the X-axis on my 4x4 Xcarve Pro stopped functioning. After going through all the troubleshooting methods with Francis, from support, they said that the electrical engineer said it was a bad stepper driver chip port and I would need to purchase a whole new $1500 controller.

This seems absolutely ridiculous and wasteful to just throw away an otherwise good controller and basically pay $1500 for one tiny $6 part. Am I crazy to be upset by that?

When I respectfully voiced my concerns the reply was simple. “Let us know if you want us to send an invoice for the new controller”

I’m going to try to fix it myself or take it to a shop here locally, but I think I’m done with Inventables.

I had the exact same response, I think it’s absolutely bull crap. I’m so pissed of by this that I’m done with it and will sell for a loss rather than give them another nickel! Maybe a class action will happen
