X-Carve started shipping early - TODAY!

I placed my order on april 28th and i was told it would ship around the last week or so of may but it that could change.

In about 3-4 weeks. At the end of next week we will have better visibility on whether we can increase the speed.

All of us who have ordered are ubderstandably excited and eager to get busy with our new machines, I know how it is because I went through it with my last machine and I am going through it again now.

However all too often a company tries to up the pace to get product out to satisfy the masses and ends up losing in the long run because of packing/shipping errors and eventually poor customer service.

Inventables has earned a well deserved reputation for fantastic customer service and support and although we the customers who are waiting for our new toy/tool are anxious to get busy, it’s not worth it to get it a bit sooner at the expense continued service and support and burnt out employees.
If faster order satisfaction can be achieved with out that risk, cool!

If not, I for one can handle the wait.

We are working through a lean manufacturing process. The speed improvements would be from changes to our process. We operate in a continuous improvement environment. That means employees would be working more efficiently. Said another way by improving the process we would eliminate wasted time and improve throughput on our assembly line this making the X-Carve machines faster.

I also ordered at the end of April (29th) and not that I’m in a rush but do wonder if you will have stock on hand when my order does come up for shipping

@AntonioNunez yea we have stock for your order.

I think I’ll die before getting shipping note, I ordered on 4/30

I was 4/25. I thought I was last in line! I think/hope it will ship by 1 June.

That is comforting to know, both for me and the rest of us who ordered “late”
I’ll stay content waiting patiently and in the mean time learn as much as I can both here and on the “Net” in general

As a late orderer I have you all beat (I tink,) May 6! had to get my other machine from another mfgr sold first.

After getting things sorted with customs… the X-Carve has arrived in New Zealand!

Would it be possible for the shipping team to update this thread at the end of each day to let us know where shipping is at - like at the butcher shop “Now serving # XXX”? Just before they go home, a simple post “Today we shipped orders made on day/month.”

That would be extremely helpful, as I thought that I would have gotten my shipping confirmation by now, but nothing yet. I ordered on march 25, and I know some people who ordered the same date already received their shipping confirmation. Anyway I’ll still wait patiently for mine, Inventables keep up the good work!!!

Hi Everyone, we have shipped up through mid day on March 20th. The afternoon orders from March 20th are next in line tomorrow morning. I’ll try to keep everyone updated as we make progress. The whole shipping team is HYPER AWARE that everyone wants their machines shipped ASAP. I don’t want to stress them out even further by demanding they post their progress each day. We want them to be moving fast but not so fast that they make mistakes. Error rate is something we track by individual contributor. We are really focusing on process and if they start posting the progress on a day by day basis there will be a reluctancy to take risks in process improvement. Each step is being timed and we are rotating team members so cross training is built into the process.

We have started to get a good rhythm going these last few days.

Hi Rusty,
I got mine today and in total it was $80 in duty. I am half way through the build and everything looks great.

Regards,

Keith

I wonder why mine shipped then? Zach what do I owe you guys? It better not be weird!

@JoeBerman after you had posted that you got your shipping confirmation, I was excited to get mine soon after, then I waited, and waited… and waited. until I realized that I probably wont get mine until later this week or next week. I don’t want to rush the Inventables team, as I would like to receive my kit complete and error free. They are doing a great job as it is, extremely impressed with their customer service and speed, as they were able to ship a week before their release date. if there was a tip option on the Inventables team for the people packing my kit, I would not mind sending a small gift, as they all well deserve it for their hard work. but getting my shipping confirmation as soon as possible would be great lol.

I’m sure there’s tons of stress, particularly if they know we’re all super excited like a bunch of girls waiting for Bieber tickets to go on sale…

When the initial “rush” is over, I do hope you and the management team take them all out for a lovely dinner to celebrate such an accomplishment.

I know I’d kick in for a beer or three for them, even though my ship date is still 2 weeks away. And while I’d love to get my machine even a day earlier than expected — I am happy to know there haven’t been any major mistakes/delays or other things that tend to creep up in major releases.
