Just a note to those in New Zealand for future reference… Customs will hold your X-Carve hostage for up to 6 days and charge a handsome fee to release it… over $330 NZ dollars in my case
Eww, six days? Maybe they wanted to try it our themselves? I’m expecting some tax too when mine gets to Guatemala, but as long as they don’t steal or loose it in Customs I won’t complain too much.
@Zach_Kaplan I’m guessing you mean $25 a spool, but if it’s $5 a spool somewhere I’ll take one of each
According to the site, some actually say $5. Check out dark blue, grape, light blue ABS. A couple of them on the site are marked down to $5 from $39. I don’t own a 3D printer myself (yet ) but those seem like some good deals
yeah, i just saw i’m ordering now!!!
I meant everything is $5 but it did appear that I had missed a few of them. We also marked down the fancy ones to $10 or $15. We need the space to set up faster X-Carve stations as soon as possible.
Kinda makes me wish I had a 3D printer.
Anyone in Canada receive their X-Carve yet? What are the duty and taxes like?
Just courious, but are you using Lean strategy (Continuous Improvement) in your operations?
Hi Rusty,
Mine ‘should’ arrive either today or Monday. So far there has been no notice of additional charges but I will let you know if I do incur any.
The USPS tracking does not work once it comes on the Canadian side of the border which is unfortunate.
That’s exciting! Mine hasn’t shipped yet. I think you can take the USPS tracking number and plug it into the Canada Post website and it should give you an update on the tracking (although Canada Post tracking kind of sucks).
That would be great to know what to expect, I’m more curious than anything. Thanks!
While looking on the Canada Post site was good advice it confirmed it will not be here until Monday :-(. There doesn’t look to be any additional charges attached, I will let you know.
@TommyWillis yes.
We have been working on getting the line to run with maximum throughput. To do this with the staff we have we need to minimize the switching time between pre kitting each module and building each module. To do that we needed more space hence the filament sale.
We have a bigger idea for how to redesign the whole line but that would be a time consuming reorganization so before we take that step we want to get data on how much faster we can ship using the same setup but with the stations where they are.
If the data proves the hypothesis we will make a more dramatic change with the hopes of being able to ship even faster.
I got my ship notice Thurs. 5/7 and my expected delivery date is Tues, so your looking at 4 business days to ship from Chicago to California.
Mine was partially delivered today. For some reason UPS is saying that the address for the 1000mm Rail kit box is wrong. When I went to make the correction, it was the correct address. Go figure. Anyways, the UPS distribution center is a few miles from me, so I requested that they hold it for pickup. I’ll be building soon!!!
I got this email from inventables confirming my shipment so I read it and they shipped me my bits so I called just to,confirm and has limeyea your machine won’t ship out till next week ugh. 20 mi,uites later there is another email saying my machine shipped. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
When did you order William?
I placed my order on March 19th.
@Zach_Kaplan You have just increased my confidence in your company. I am retired and saving every penny for the day I can purchase an X-Carve. I firmly believe that using Lean strategy just makes sense for any company. Small steps and experimenting lead to the bigger improvements. Keep up the good work.
Does anyone know if someone placed an order today how long it would take to get in?
