got my email today, i ordered mine 4/3. couple things i ordered are missing on the email invoice, will be interesting to see if they actually make it in the box or if ill get another email
Just wanted to jump back in and say how unbelievably pleased I am with how easy this machine is going together. I would have had all of the mechanical assembly completed this evening if it weren’t for the lack of waste board (thanks again, UPS! LOL). In the meantime, I’m putting together the power supply/controller package and planning out my wiring. I’m going to be using some extra connectors in a couple of places to make any future disassembly for upgrades a little easier, so I have to take a little more care with that, but it’s still going to come together very quickly once the last piece of the puzzle arrives.
Also, this thing is huge. I mean, I knew it was big, but it’s one thing to imagine it in your workspace, and quite another to actually have it all sitting here.
Nothing to see here folks, just a small break in the space-time continuum, no need to panic.
@BadWolf the other items ship in a separate box. They come from a different shipping line and the X-Carve box is full.
ok no problem, it was just a collet set and the inserts and some screws i think
I received my shipping mail today. Still no tracking info on UPS. Expecting some news maybe another day or so. Ordered March 30th. Thanks.

Mine did come on 5/18. Ordered March 30th. Will start on it when I wake up. Thanks Inventables…
I’m not seeing any build logs… Come on people… Youtube is there for a reason! We want something to tide us over… You are building it anyways, make a video!
Havent recieved any shipping info.
Ordered 3/31
Hang tight we are getting dangerously close to your order.
not sure what was more exciting. pushing the button or the suspense in waiting and checking every day for shipping notification. i really haven’t been this excited about something in a very long time. I can’t wait to jump into the maker community with both feet.
Curious (only because the original blog had my expected ship date of 5/25)…
Was there a “lull” in orders Apr 1 - Apr 30? And thus a whole month of orders will be shipped out in the next few days to meet the original blog deadline? Something sounds quite far behind…
I ask because a friend in New Zealand called and asked why she hasn’t had hers shipped in spite of the 5/18 “expected” date - and customer service told her June…and she is at least 2-3 weeks ahead of me in order date. If her date is June…should I expect an April 24th order to be in June? Or is that an international thing?
just got the email for the other items haha. i was curious about one thing, when i ordered i didnt order a wasteboard so i ordered the support extrusions and brackets for the 1000mm upgrade separately. i then learned the 1000m rail kit now comes with the extrusions and hardware as part of a kit. does that mean i will get the rail kit with the support extrusions plus the extra ones i ordered separately? if so not a big deal as im sure ill find a use for them
So i find myself in a bit of a decision tree. I ordered the 1000mm kit and at the rate things are shipping it will possibly be well into June before mine arrives, and i understand Inventables is moving as fast as they possibly can. But i have projects already lined up and im considering purchasing a CNC Piranha due to i can have it here next week and possibly cancling my X-carve. Some one please talk some sense into me and if you have had any experience with the CNC Piranha. Just under the gun to get projects out and paid for.
Ok Paul, look at the best parts going for you with the X-Carve,
Larger work area compared to the Pirahna
Complete cost is lower
Comes with spindle!
Now those three should be enough to help you decide but then also look at the customer support here, is the other company as good? will they have spare parts available?
Now mind you I had done quite a bit of research before deciding on an X-carve and I haven’t even received mine yet.
I am in no way affiliated with Inventables (other than a customer) so this is a totally unbiased opinion
Got the shipping info litterally minutes after.
Super exited to assemble the 1000mm xcarve.
