Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed a small but persistent issue with my X-Carve Pro. When the machine homes, it stops about 1/8” short of the front edge of the spoilboard on the Y-axis.
This doesn’t prevent me from squaring up material, and I can jog the machine manually to reach the full edge of the spoilboard with no problem. But it seems like the machine isn’t homing to the “true” front Y position, and I’m wondering if that’s something I can adjust.
Is there a way to edit the home position or update the machine’s internal settings so that it recognizes the front edge of the spoilboard correctly? Or is this normal behavior?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!
Mine homes to the front left edge properly, then backs off a touch. I can still move it to 0, 0
, but the point where it stops is not actually 0, 0
. It shows up in the jog dialog correctly as not being at zero.
Hello, hello!
I just wanted to share a quick update after speaking with Giovanna from tech support.
It turns out my assumption was a bit off: the machine’s Home position isn’t necessarily aligned with the front edge of the spoilboard. In my case, Home ends up about 1/8” into the Y-axis of the board. I originally thought it was supposed to go all the way to the edge, but that’s not actually how it’s designed.
I could probably shift the spoilboard slightly if I wanted to match it to Home more closely, but for now, it’s not causing any issues in my workflow, so I’ve decided to leave it as is.
Just thought this might help anyone else wondering the same thing! Thank you!
