Sign costing help

so i am new to this Xcarve and really diving in to make projects , did a few signs and people are wanting me to do them some , how do i price these , i know there are different sizes and details , but some of you probably have a general rule or guidelines you can share with me please

example 24 X 12 cherry sign with general letters and maybe a graphic or logo , finished with light poly oil …how would you price this ? Appreciate your help and if private send me a text 502-603-9849

I’m new to this also, but my thought would be to charge based on time & materials. For me, my time is usually worth no less than $15/hr, so if a piece takes 1 hour to prep & carve, I’d charge $15+material cost+tax. That way, you can charge more for more expensive materials (Purple Heart) and your “rate” is always the same. Of course, being new to this, I could be wrong. Good Luck!!
