My machine won't home

I just spent the last 3 days very frustrated while assembling this machine and I thought I had it set up correctly but when I went to “HOME” it, the machine makes a loud noise and doesn’t move or do anything. I’m ready to toss it out the front door. Please help

You may have some wires crossed on the stepper motors, check the back of the X Controller to make sure everything is correct, the Y2 AXIS is different from the others. Also make sure the correct wire is going to the correct stepper motor

If the stepper motors do not move when you go to home the machine, but they make a sort-of grinding sound then you likely have them wired incorrectly.

Could be the z axes since it homes it first before moving. Does it move up any or just make noise?

I think I have the problem fixed. Thanks a bunch

What was it?

It was the little screw above the router. I had it too low.

That would do it!!!

My machine does not even have that feature; it’s “Vintage 2015” with a homemade linear-slide Z-Axis although it does still use the same top plate.
