Hello,

We have released a new version of the Easel Driver version 0.4.3. Driver is available immediately to be downloaded for Windows, macOS and Ubuntu Linux at Easel - Downloads. You will be prompted to upgrade next time you carve.
Release notes:

  • Security certificate updates for 2025
  • Support dropped for Windows 8.1

With this release we are ending unofficial support for Windows 8.1. Our support policy has long stated that Windows 10 is the minimum required version. While it was possible to install Easel Driver on Windows 8.1, it is no longer possible with version 0.4.3.

If you are still using Windows 8.1 we are allowing a grace period with driver version 0.4.1 until May 21, 2025. We encourage updating to latest Windows OS during that grace period. 8.1 version of Windows has not been supported by Microsoft since January 2023.

Hello,
We have released driver version 0.4.4. This release is part of ongoing development and compliance regulation changes.

Prior driver versions 0.4.0 and 0.4.1 have been discontinued. Users on Windows 8.1 are very highly encouraged to upgrade to newer version, or switch to alternative solutions such as Linux. Windows 8.1 has not been supported by Easel for a long time.

Your new driver just totally screwed my black walnut project. You took away the use of the Z-Probe and by using the “work zero”, it cut down 3x’s what it should have.

Then, when I switched to the detailed bit, it cut only half way down of what it was supposed to.

It’s absolute garbage, and I’m going to drop Easel software completely. Luckily, I’m up fir renewal next month!

Last weekend I used my machine and had no trouble …yesterday I tried to cut something but I can’t get the tab to open when I try to home my machine it has a trouble shoot blue button. after multiple attempts of installing the driver for my Mac. Checking tomake sure my computer is up to date on its software,trying a new cable I even change computers and it still giving me the trouble shoot blue button on my drop down tab! Any help would be appreciated…

Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the trouble. This Easel Driver Update would not have any direct effect on the settings of your machine profiles. In this case, I have created a ticket so that one of our support team members can reach out to assist.
