I’m completely new to CNC, and looking to buy a machine for a maker camp this summer. I want to cut up lots of cardboard—we’ll be making stuff like this—so a drag knife seems like the way to go.
I’m looking for a drag knife that I can get working with a minimum of hassle: I don’t have the skills to quickly whip up a 3D-printed collet, or a lot of extra time. Does anyone have an off-the-shelf success story with the X-carve and a drag knife? The Donek seems like a likely candidate, but I’ll try anything that can cut corrugated cardboard.
Thanks for any advice/pointers/experience you can give me!
