Hello!
I am seeking some advice regarding two issues I currently have…
FIRST ISSUE
As you can see in the pictures below, I have a drill bit that broke during the middle of a cut and is stuck in the collet. I’ve struggled to find a way to get it out now for about two weeks.
Any suggestions?
Please note, I did consult a couple of other posts about a similar issue; however, the advice given doesn’t appear to work with my particular circumstance. I believe what is prolonging my ability to fix it is that the bit is embedded so deep into the collet. Please help.
SECOND ISSUE
What caused this stuck bit issue stems from a repetitive problem I’ve been having. My X-Carve has been regularly shorting out with some type of error in the middle of the cut. At first, what would happen is some power struggle would shut the easel app off, thereby causing the project to collapse altogether. The last time it did show was when it jammed the drill bit upwards, snapping it in half.
Please understand, I’m not just naively asking this question, I know its a frequent one that has been asked many times over. I’ve tried anything and everything using the advice given on the different threads, but it continues to happen around 70 or 80% of cuts I’ve attempted these last 4 months. What the heck am I doing wrong?
Just for clarification, the power-loss/project-ending error typically occurs around the 20 to 30% mark during the first cut that uses the 1/4 drill bit.
One thing I’m curious about is if there is some type of maintenance I have to do to reset the rhythm and make sure that this repeated mistake stops happening altogether.
Please help
Thanks!
