Unknown Part

I just completed getting my x carve 1000 assembled and have what looks like a small battery clamp with black and red wires and a brass disk left. I can’t find anything stating what they are for. Can someone help me out with this?

Hello Kyle and welcome to the forum,
That is the Z probe, used for setting the Z height. It lets the router know where the top of the material is.
