Looks amazing !!! so many possibilities with this… Thanks for sharing

Thanks! Was a nice project to get done and hopefully others can test out some designs. Hope to get v carve soon for some options for customers and things to sell with resin inlays

How do you load non-svg files into Easel and convert to SVG? I’ve looked and can only find the import SVG section. (Converted the writing to a svg once loaded into easel)

I’ve been converting my stuff to SVG in Inkscape.

Look in the “APPS” for image trace

Apps and image trace. I had my customer email me a scanned copy of the recipe And then with the settings got to the point where it started to come out right to be able to be engraved. I checked the toolpaths with the different sizes of bits and got approved to start carving.

Yup that’s what I used. You have to mess around with the settings depending what or how the writing is to get a near perfect trace to be able to engrave or cut out depending how you have it for the project.

Sorry to bump this old thread but just saw the final result, absolutely brilliant! I don’t know your customer’s story behind the recipe but presumably it meant a lot to them so great to see it brought to life in a cutting board.

Thanks! Yeah they wanted the Original writing and the trace option in easel work really nicely. Some words didn’t really come out right bc of the writing that happen when their grandma wrote it but they were happy with everything. I designed something that was basic and a lot of customers now want the same look as what they had gotten. Hopefully I’ll be getting vcarve to do the same and make more projects for customers that want handwriting put on anything they want!
