Need a spindle enable signal for my VFD

I have a 750mm X Carve that I recently swapped to a cheap VFD / 1.5kw er 16 spindle, looks promising, but I cant get both speed control and spindle enable with a single M3 Sxxxxx command.

I don’t want to use one of the coolant commands (m7/m8on m9 off) to fudge it seems janky and a real oversight that a hoby cnc wood router with a particle board spoil board would have dedicated options for both flood and mist coolant but no spindle enable.

At this point I can either change $30=1 and get a full output from either the 5vpwm or the 0-10v analog speed port to drive a relay and enable the spindle (same as I used to switch my old dewalt 611 router on/off or I can set $30 to max RPM 24000 and use the 0-10v output to set the VFD speed. Has anyone either changed the firmware to use one of the coolant outputs as a dedicated M3 on m5 off signal to drive a relay? or found some sort of relay that can take the PWM signal and reliably use it to enable the VFD output while using the 0-10v signal for speed control? Thanks in advance. I have the DIY X controller with the 4 integrated stepper drivers.
