Made some larger flat clamps

@JonathanTorrell

very nice find thank you yeah i was watching them when I was cutting them and watching those tool paths happen I am glad that it shortens the time greatly

does anyone know why easel generates tool paths like this? does it have something to do with how the software is designed? what is actually determining how the tool paths are generated besides from the shape of the object?

I am also assuming that you didnt cut a symbol out in the middle of the clamp to help with speed?

So I think I’ve figure out the crazy paths. It looks like Easel will actually calculate it as expected and plane out the whole area except…the design has a slight gap between the through cut and the main body. If that’s filled in, the paths clean up well.

Here, I cleaned up the one on the right and got rid of the gap, the one on the left still has the gap:

I ended up cutting a simple logo into them, added maybe 30 seconds to my cut time:

ahh i see i will have to look for that i did not think that it made a difference but i see how it could

I just edited my original post to add a comparison shot of the tool paths. I should have thought about it when it was cutting as there was a bit of a rough edge on that one side…just didn’t click for me.
