Select the info button at bottom right. There is some basic instructions in there and a Tutorial for PicSender. The grbl settings you need change for laser engraving with the J-Tech firmware is here. Also there is instructions how to backup your current settings before any changes are made.

> I don’t have a spindle on our Shapeoko, only a laser, but I do test different versions of grbl back and forth quite extensively with PicSender. You can switch to the grbl 9j for your spindle or vector laser gcode files, then switch to the J-Tech PWM grbl for raster laser engraving. After connecting to the com port in PicSender, select the yellow GRBL button, then Display Settings, then Save. Name the file something like X-Carve GRBL 9j. Return to the main screen, select Close, not Exit. Open …

Some info on the default X-Carve settings for reference.

One of the things that I have noticed is that the grbl parameters seem to be inconsistent, especially when the Arduino has to be re-flashed. Long story short I wanted to find out exactly what the defaults should be. I took a new Arduino and used the EEPROM clear example program to clear the contents of the EEPROM (1024 locations), compiled the source code for Grbl 0.9j, downloaded to the Arduino, then ask fo…

GRBL 9 configuration information so you know what the settings do.
