# Cutting circles

I’m having a problem with my X-Carve cutting circles. They are coming out as ovals. Is there some calibration I can do to fix this?

You need to be sure youve run through the machine calibration to make sure your steps/mm are calibrated correctly. There are ample topics on how to do this and the xcarve build documentation should coach you through this as well.
