easel just says connecting. It does not give an option to enter com port manually. the machine is on and connected. The port is configured correctly.
In what way are you sure the machine is ON?
E-stop properly disengaged? Several useds have reported it to be finicky.

Did you inslall drivers form easel and/or install ftdi drivers
Also I sometimes have connection issues and need to turn off x controller then back on or just unplug usb then plug back in.
