# Can the x-carve make this

so your saying go with the small one so the frame is stiffer and a way bigger spindle motor? Would you mind posting your setup seems like your the closest to being able to do any real metal cuting with it.

Hi @BWoolosn,

I know it’s been a while, but I did get around to milling Aluminum with the stock X-Carve. Here is a link to the thread where I posted about it. The results are a little rough, but I stopped the job part way through because I got what I needed… I am confident that the X-Carve would have given much cleaner results had I run a finishing pass.
