# Bit question

So I’ve designed a sign for my daughter‘s wedding, looking to choose a bit to sign dimensions are 20 x 14 using walnut. While looking at the bed using a 60° but it’s stating 14 to 18 hours to do the design which is just their names and an established date. But if I switch the bit to a quarter inch solid carbide two flute straight it changes the carve time to be 2 to 3 hours but does not give very much in the way of definition. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

Try using both bits by selecting the straight bit as the first bit and then clicking “+” to add the V-bit as the second bit. Then run a two-stage carve as explained here:
