# Anyone try a Brainwave Pro on an X-Carve?

I’ve got a [Brainwave Pro](http://www.kosselpro.com/documentation/brainwave-pro/) lying around (I’m one of those software guys with a hardware addiction - “oh look, a shiny new board - I should have one of those because, err, shiny!”). Anyone ever try to drive an X-Carve with one? It’s on my list of things to experiment with, but hasn’t made it to the top yet.

It’s a brave new world.

You might be able to get this working. Here’s a place to start:

Atmel AT90USB1286 Microcontroller

From this web site: [Printrboard - RepRap](http://reprap.org/wiki/Printrboard)

Grbl: No official support yet, but works with Lincomatic’s fork.

A.J, I think that’s a Brainwave, not a Brainwave Pro. The Pro has [a lot more heatsinking](http://www.kosselpro.com/documentation/brainwave-pro/).

There’s a long discussion of how to install for the 3D printer [here](http://www.kosselpro.com/documentation/brainwave-pro/), and I’m hoping that it’s similar for the XCarve. Certainly the Arduino bootloader stuff will be the same.
